The Tuned Peruvian pan flute uses thirteen hand-cut bamboo canes tuned to the key of C in the Mixolydian scale. Each pipe is shaped for even response across the full range. A tight black thread secures the canes.

The instrument measures 20 × 29 cm and weighs 0.16 kg. Natural variation in bamboo means every flute has a unique colour and grain pattern.
